Hi! My name is Nick Mortimore, and I am a Research Technician in the Buchan Lab, though I started out as a Beckman Scholar in the Spring of 2022. My research focuses on a novel mechanism of protein-protein interaction formation called mRNA 3' untranslated region (3' UTR) scaffolding. Outside of the lab, I enjoy messing around on the piano, hiking trails in Tucson, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and hanging out with my two cats, Quid and Aster.
